01 Rare Dick Tracy Bobbing Head Gem MB $750

Extremely rare and sought after, they just don't come around often. This is a great looking example with solid coloring and gloss and a near perfect decals. No cracks or hairlines anywhere. The only flaws are a couple of incidental pinpoints to side and rear and some very minor professional restoration to a few chips to the hat and head rim. Work is virtually impossible to spot, looks like a gem mint doll. $1800

02 Roberto Clemente Like New Gem NrMt+ in Original Box MB $750

Gorgeous! This Roberto has literally spent his entire 48 years in his box, it's time for him to come out and bob a little. The original colors and gloss are as shiny as the day he was made. The decals are out as perfect as they come which is very rare on a Clemente. There is a minor rub to his brim that shows a sliver of white (a rub from the box) which would be a simple touch up if you desire. Rare box with a light "Ruberto" Clemente stamp is in great shape also. As beautiful a doll as you will ever see. $1980

03 Detroit Tigers Black Player NrMt MB $500

Here's a very sharp looking Tigers realistic style doll from the 1963-66 Black Player set. Nice colors and gloss, solid decals. No chips, cracks or hairlines. He's all original except for some smoothing of the head rim and a couple of nicks to the hat that have been cleaned up. Looks mint on the shelf. $770

04 Los Angeles Dodgers Weirdo Screwball Gem MB $280

A great looking doll that has had some chips and cracks professionally restored. Nice and colorful with pleasing gloss. Dodgers logo on chest has lightened a bit with age but looks OK. This one came with a hand tag rather than a saying on base although only half of the tag made it this far. Looks gem minty on the shelf.$308

05 Los Angeles Dodgers Weirdo Crybaby with Decal MB $280

Neat crying Dodger with the decal on base saying "The kids back home usta give me four strikes". Has very nice coloring and gloss, the decals are very nice too. Some hairlines coming up from the rim have been touched up, noticeable from underneath but hidden on display. Likewise some chipping on the hat brim has been touched but looks fine. Good looking display doll from this tough early set.$379

06 Oakland Raiders 1961 AFL Toes Up NrMt MB $500

Tough and popular example from the original 1961 AFL set. A pretty solid example, colors and gloss are sharp, No cracks or hairlines. This is the nickname decal on base example, "RAIDERS" is complete with a few pinpoint flakes. All original but for one tiny paint touch up to a nick on the edge of his shoulder pads. Very minor scattered wear but nothing to speak of, a very sharp example.$1000

07 Washington Redskins 1961 Black Square Base Gem NrMt MB $500

Very difficult doll, these don't turn up often. This one is all original and has solid coloring and gloss and beautifully smooth paint throughout. Embossed logos and helmet feather are great. Only flaws are a few very light hairlines to the rim, tiny nick to side of chin strap and some flakes to the left side and rear of foot/base. A beauty that is quite scarce.$1244

08 Cleveland Browns Type 1 Toes Up NFL Gem MB $220

Lovely doll from the "Type 1" NFL Toes Up set (goofy face, ball vertical, embossed NFL or small base decal). Nice colors, beautiful logos. I couldn't tell by looking at it but my black light picked up a professional repair to the upper shoulder area and back rim of helmet. Looks mint on the shelf. Note there is only one pinpoint to rear helmet, the other two white spots you see are camera glare. NB

09 Baylor Bears Mascot Gem NrMt/Mt MB $200

Would be hard to find a nicer example of this neat doll. Gem colors and gloss and a perfect logo. I had to search to find a tiny nick or two to the rim. An almost flawless doll.$293

10 California Bears Mascot Gem NrMt/Mt MB $200

Another glossy all original mascot. Super colors and paint, decal is in fine shape. Can't find any cracks or hairlines. Under rim is sharp with just a couple of minor flakes.$429

11 Texas Longhorn Mascot NrMt+MB $200

Color is the big issue with this doll, I've seen some really dull looking examples. This is one of the more colorful one's I've had, the reddish/orange color is sharp and the gloss is pretty good too. No nicks, chips or touch ups to the high points which is unusual. Only flaws are a couple of minor rubs to the rim and a scrape to rear of base. Good looking, all original example.$266

12 Toronto Maple Leafs 1962 Square Base NrMt MB $140

Another sharp looking doll from the full sized set featuring the 6 original NHL franchises. Colors, gloss and decals are all top notch. Some chipping to rim that is hidden on display and scattered tiny pinpoint flecks to the hair are the flaws. Looks great.$187

13 New York Rangers 1962 Square Base Gem NrMt/Mt MB $140

From the original full size NHL set. Super colors and gloss, great decals. No chips, cracks or hairlines. I really can't find any flaws. Don't come any nicer.$157

14 Boston Bruins High Skates Rare Gem 1st one I've had. MB $300

I've had a couple of the smaller Bruins High Skates over the years, but this is the first regular size (6.5") example I've ever had. Trust me when I tell you it's hard to come by.. This example has had some restoration to the head rim although you need a black light to be able to tell. Looks like a solid mint doll with a nice chest logo. If you need it, go for it because it might be a long time before another pops up.$635

15 Montreal Canadiens Small High Skates Gem MB $240

All the dolls from this NHL set (also referred to as the Intermediate High Skates set) are tough and the Montreal example is right near the top of the list. This one has had some professional restoration to the rim area and displays like a gem minty doll. Colors, gloss and decals are all great. A few scattered surface pinpoints are the only flaws and they are very minor. Sharp looking doll.$264

16 Los Angeles Kings 1968 Gold Base Gem MB $240

A gorgeous looking doll with super paint and great coloring from the always difficult Gold Base set. Looks gem mint with no chips or cracks but my black light tells me he's had some work done to the head and a nice cleaning. The crown on chest is perfect, base decal has some light wear. A beauty.$426

17 Chicago Black Hawks 1968 Gold Base Gem NrMt MB $200

Lovely all original example from the tough 1968 Gold Base NHL set. He has a beautiful tanned face and super gloss. Decals are solid with just a minor miss to the base. A tiny nick to the rim and a couple of flakes to top of left shoulder are the flaws. nb

18 Detroit Pistons Black Lil Dribbler Gem NrMt+ in Box MB $80

Out of the box colors and shine with perfect decals. A tiny scrape to bottom rear of head is the only flaw. Box with sticker is great too.$127

19 Los Angeles Lakers 1968 Gold Base Gem NrMt/Mt in Box

Gorgeous Laker bobbing head from the 1968 Gold Base NBA set. Out of the box gem colors and shine with super decals. No chips, cracks or hairlines. Box with sticker is very nice too.$135

20 Hang Ten Surfer Nodder ExMt MB $40

A cool surfer dude for your shelf. He's nice and glossy with a solid Hang Ten logo. I believe these were produced in the early 70's and made of more of a ceramic/porcelain type material. Shows some paint loss as can be seen in the pictures and has a hairline crack to the right side of his head that is hidden from the front. A pretty popular doll and doesn't come around all that often.$44

21 #2 Racecar and Driver Gem NrMt MB $80

Super cute little number 2 racer, I had his brother last auction this one has the red helmet, green car and gold shirt. Super condition with nice bright colors and gloss. Just a tiny nick to the rim and a faint hairline in rear, otherwise perfect.$139

22 Suzy Smart United Stewardess with Handtag NrMt/Mt MB $180

One of six different Suzy Smart dolls (others are the Nurse, Artist, Teacher, Operator and Hoover Housewife) and they are all pretty scarce. This is the popular United Airlines Stewardess and she's in great condition with no chips, cracks or hairlines. Base decal "Then he says-"Lets fly united, sweetie!" is perfect and she even has her original Suzy Smart hand tag.$605

23 Red Goose Shoes Advertising Nodder NrMt MB $140

Neat "hip nodder" advertising doll, his whole body bobs. I'm not sure why but this doll does not photograph well for me, it always looks better in person than it does in my pix. This one has nice red colors and a pretty good decal. Only flaws are a hairline underneath and some light chipping to rim. A pretty tough doll in solid condition.nb

24 Mr. Peanut Advertising Nodder NrMt+ in Box MB $140

It's pretty hard to find Mr. P in top shape, this is a really nice one. No cracks or hairlines, perfect decal. Only flaws are scattered little pinpoints to the black paint which is unavoidable with this doll. Super example that comes with his original cane and box.nb

25 Bob's Big Boy Nodder NrMt/Mt MB $240

Great looking doll. No cracks, hairlines or touch ups. Solid colors all around, decal is good, too. Only flaw is a tiny scrape to the side of the neck where the head dinged it at some point, very minor and hidden on display.$290

26 Warner Brothers Yosemite Sam NrMt MB $280

Very unusual to have this guy in consecutive auctions, he's a pretty scarce doll and only the third one I've had. Nice colors and gloss, no cracks or hairlines. Decals in nice shape with just a couple of small misses. Only flaws are a few scattered pinpoints and two hidden touch ups to the rear of hat. Solid example.$410

27 Chicago Cubs 1960 Color Base Gem MB $140

A pretty tough doll from the very first baseball set made, this Cubs Color Base has bright colors and gloss. Decals have darkened a bit and the logo on the chest shows wear. A couple of faint hairlines coming up from the rim is the only real flaw. No repairs although he has had a professional cleaning. $140

28 Cincinnati Reds 1960 Color Base Gem NrMt MB $180

A difficult doll from the very first set made. Nice bright colors and a great embossed logo. No cracks or hairlines. No repairs although he does have a couple of hidden touchups and has had a cleaning. Looks sharp.$180

29 Los Angeles Dodgers 1960 Wood Base Gem MB $200

One of the first baseball dolls made, part of a set which also includes the Giants, Yankees and Angels. This one looks gem mint with bright coloring and gloss. My black light tells me he's had some nicks professionally restored and had a cleaning. Not all original but a flawless looking example.$200

30 St. Louis Cardinals Mini ExMt MB $200

The Cards is one of the tougher minis out there. This one looks pretty good with no major problems. Red coloring is nice with just a couple hidden touchups to left side of head. Body has a bit of toning and a few stray marks but not bad. Chest and hat decals are good, base decal is gone. $322

31 Los Angeles Angels Mini ExMt MB $80

This is the thicker base, no decal variety. Chest decal and script Angels decal on hat are nice. Gloss is good, colors are OK. Chipping to the head rim is the flaw, well hidden on display.nb

32 Washington Senators White Base NrMt/Mt in illustrated Box MB $200

This is a great looking example from the very first run of White Base dolls that came with their own colorful picture boxes. Solid coloring and gloss and great decals. Two faint hairlines to rim in back are the only flaws. Box is terrific.$242

33 Washington Senators Square Green Base NrMt MB $140

From the tough to find Square Green Base subset. This cute Senators flat cap is in nice condition with solid colors and gloss and good decals. A couple of small flaws including some light hidden chipping to rim with a micro hairline and small scrapes to bottom corner base and side of neck. Flaws are minor, doll looks great.$169

34 Cincinnati Reds Green Base NrMt MB $120

Good looking example, the colors of the ball head are as white as they come on this doll, it's usually very shellacked and darkened. Base decal and embossed chest logo are solid. Only flaws are a couple of tiny hairlines coming up from the rim, a small ding on nose (white on white so it blends in fine) and a couple of minor touchups to brim and sock.nb

35 Washington Senators Green Base NrMt MB $120

Cute little flat cap version. Colors, gloss and decals are all solid with just some natural toning to the uniform. Only material flaw I find is a tiny hairline in back and an incidental pinpoint or two.$145

36 Boston Red Sox Green Base ExMt MB $100

Good looking original doll with nice bright colors and pretty solid decals. Faint hairlines to the bottom of jaw and rear and a few scattered marks and nicks are the only flaws. Looks super on the shelf.nb

37 Oakland A's Gold Base Gem ExMt in Box MB $70

You won't find a brighter, more colorful display doll, it really stands out. Decals are solid. Flaws include scattered nicks and craze marks and a small ding and light hairlines coming up from the rim. Not mint, but a great looking shelf doll. Box with sticker is very nice.$88

38 San Diego Padres Gold Base NrMt in Box MB $100

Sharp looking little Padres flat cap. Colors and gloss are very nice, decals are solid with just factory seam splits. No cracks or hairlines, the only flaws are a tiny pinpoint touch up to hat and some nicking to the back of the base that was also touched up. Looks minty on display and comes with his original box without a sticker.$120

39 New York Mets Gold Base ExMt MB $70

Flat cap style Met. Colors and gloss are pretty good, decals are ok with some misses. Light wear throughout and some touching up to the hat. Not mint but not bad. nb

40 Minnesota Twins Gold Base Gem NrMt MB $140

One of the toughest dolls in this set, particularly hard to find in quality shape. This example has nice bright coloring and sharp gloss. Decals are complete with some misses, most notably the A on the base decal. Some chipping and a micro hairline or two to the rim is the main flaw, otherwise solid with just a few minor rubs. Pretty doll.$194

41 Lot of 2 Banks Touchdown and Home Run Gem MB $50

Nice lot of 2 Kail like banks, the Bombers Home Run Bank and the Touchdown Bank. These fit in great with any bobbing head, bank or Kail display at a reasonable cost. Both are nice and shiny with good decals. No major flaws, just some tiny scattered pinpoints and some minor crazing under the gloss in a couple of spots on the baseball guy. $50

42 Lot of 2 Little Profit and Inky Dinky NrMt/Mt MB $80

Nice lot of two non sports dolls. Includes a mint Little Profit nodder which was given to Chrysler Dealers as a souvenir and an Inky Dinky dancing bear promoting the Ice Follies. Profit is mint and is the original Japan example, not the later Taiwan remake. Inky is in nice near mint condition with a light hairline to jaw and rear and some light rim chipping.nb

43 Lot of 2 Neat Paul Bunyan Nodders NrMt MB $120

Great lot of 2 Paul Bunyans, includes the larger Bank with Bangor Maine logo as well as the standard sized doll. Both have nice bright colors and gloss with solid logos. The bank has some wear to the paint on his feet and some touch ups to the head. Smaller doll is sharp , looks minty with just a tiny touch up to the beard. Solid pair that look great on the shelf.nb

44 Universal Studios Director Gem NrMt/Mt MB $60

One of the nicest examples of this promotional doll that I've seen, its usually dull and very beat up for some reason. This one has super colors and gloss with perfect decals. No chips, cracks or hairlines. Won't find a nicer original example.$60

45 New York Giants Kissing Pair Gem MB $240

Great looking pair that have had some professional restoration. He has gem colors and gloss, decals are in good shape with just a few scattered misses. She has a bit of toning to the whites but still has her feather and looks good on the shelf.nb

46 San Francisco 49'ers 1960 Wood Base NrMt MB $60

From the first set made. Coloring is pretty good as are the embossed logos. A couple of micro hairlines to the rim that you have to search for and some minor paint rubs to the helmet are the flaws.nb

47 Cleveland Browns 1961 Square Base with NFL Gem NrMt/Mt MB $120

Lovely example with the tough to find embossed NFL logo on the base. Gem colors and gloss, solid logos, no chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. I suppose you could find a pinpoint fleck or two if you search but about as nice as they come.$160

48 Pittsburgh Steelers 1961 Square Base with NFL Gem ExMt MB $100

Here's a tough to find doll, the Steelers with the embossed NFL logo. Gem colors and gloss, solid logos. My black light found some touch ups to the shoulder area and he's got a couple of chips and a hairline to rear rim. Looks Gem minty on display. $110

49 Baltimore Colts 1961 Square Base Gem MB $80

Blazing gem colors and gloss, perfect logos throughout. I found some scattered touch ups with my black light but you can't see them without one. Will be one of the prettier dolls on your shelf.$118

50 Cleveland Browns 1965 Real Face NrMt MB $140

Tough doll from the hard to find 1965-68 NFL Realistic Face set. Colors and gloss are very nice, decals are good with a slight tilt of the base decal. Faint micro hairline to left side of rim, minor toning to helmet stripe and a hidden touch up or two to the helmet are the only flaws. Sharp looking example and pretty hard to find.$155

51 Green Bay Packers 1965 Real Face Gem NrMt MB $140

A real beauty from the tough 1965-68 Realistic Face NFL set. Gorgeous original colors and gloss, all of the decals are close to perfect. Only flaws are a faint hairline to jaw (hard to see in natural light), some craze like surface hairlines to either side of head and scraping to the neck stem caused by someone trying to adjust the spring at some point. The flaws are well hidden on display, looks minty.$172

52 Denver Broncos 1968 Gold Base ExMt MB $100

Looks minty on display with rich colors and solid gloss. Decals all around are strong. Only real flaw is some chipping to the head rim and a couple of tiny shellac drips to face that blend in well. $132

53 Cleveland Browns 1968 Gold Base Gem NrMt+ MB $120

Super gem colors and shine, perfect decals and helmet stripe. Flawless except for one small area of chipping under the left side of rim which is hidden on display. A real beauty and one of the tougher ones from this set.$120

54 Detroit Lions 1968 Gold Base Gem NrMt MB $70

Gem colors and gloss, decals are super. Nicks to the stomach, left collar and left under rim are the flaws. A beautiful dollnb

55 Houston Oilers 1968 Gold Base Gem NrMt MB $100

Another gorgeous shiny Gold Base. Perfect decals all around. One small hairline to rear head rim (the other lines you see are just parts of the mold) and a couple of light specks of stray silver paint to face are the only flaws. Another beauty.nb

56 Miami Dolphins 1968 Gold Base NrMt MB $100

I find this to be a very difficult doll to come across, especially in nice condition. This is in really great shape. he has solid colors and gloss and the decals and helmet stripe are almost perfect. A pinpoint to shoulder, minor roughness to the head rim and light hairlines to rear rim are the flaws. Lovely doll on display.$140

57 Pittsburgh Steelers 1968 Gold Base Gem ExMt MB $120

One of the most stunning display dolls I've seen, the black and gold paint literally glows and the decals and helmet stripe are super. He has some cracking to left rear side of head rim as you can see from the back pictures but if you're looking for a tough doll that looks gorgeous you won’t be disappointed here.$145

58 Connecticut Baggy Shirt Toes Up NrMt+ MB $180

The UConn doll is very tough to find and its one of the prettier college examples made, the royal blue coloring is just awesome. A sharp example here, besides the aforementioned colors he also has nice gloss and perfect decals. I needed my reading specs to find a couple of tiny hairlines on the rim. Some very minor scattered marks don't amount to much, a very sharp looking doll.$180

59 Princeton Baggy Shirt Toes Up Gem MB $140

You don't see this baggy shirt version often, every Princeton example I've ever seen is the standard style. Lovely colors and gloss, perfect decals. Some light work to the head rim and scattered touch ups that you need a black light to spot are the flaws. Looks gem mint on the shelf.$190

60 Georgia Tech Baggy Shirt Toes Up ExMt MB $120

Tech is a pretty tough one to find. This one has some light flaws but looks good on the shelf and has solid decals. Flaws include a few touch ups to the edge of the helmet, some light wear and short hairlines to the rim, and some surface crazing to the face which blends in fine from any type of distance. Displays very well.$120

61 Miami Hurricanes Toes Up Gem Rare MB $180

One of the all time tough college dolls, I auctioned one in early 2007 and until now that was the only one I've had to offer. Obviously rare and a very pretty doll with the green, orange and white color combo. Appears to be a lovely mint doll with perfect decals although an expert will tell you that the head rim has had some light work done. A great looking, very scarce doll.$290

62 Michigan State Toes Up Gem NrMt in Box MB $140

Beautiful original doll, this is the version with the Type 1 goofy face and the stamped decals. Super colors and gloss, great logos. Only flaws are a tiny hairline under the right side rim, small indent to top of shoulder and a tiny white spot in rear of helmet. A beauty and his colorful box is super too.$154

63 Air Force Academy Falcons Toes Up Gem ExMt MB $140

Bright shiny colors and terrific gloss. Decals are super too. Only flaws are some rim wear and hairlines and a chip to helmet around back. Looks gem minty on display.$156

64 Bakersfield Junior College Nodder Gem NrMt/Mt MB $140

One of the prettiest College dolls you will see. Gorgeous all original example with shiny reds and whites, solid decals. One micro hairline to rear rim that I had to search for and a pinpoint or two to the jersey are the only minor flaws. This one has popped up a couple times lately but it's still quite rare, could be awhile before another comes around.$140

65 Wisconsin Gold Base Gem MB $120

One of only a handful of legitimate Gold Base College dolls, most that you see being sold out there are generic dolls with decals that were added later. This one is pretty tough to find and he looks real good. He's had some chips and nicks to the head professionally restored and looks minty with great original decals.$248

66 Army Gold Base NrMt MB $80

Another Gold Base college example. The colors are original as is the Japan base decal. I think this one originally came without a chest decal and the A was added later. Some smoothing of the head rim and touch ups to the helmet are impossible to spot without a black light.nb

01 Super Rare John Lennon Promo Doll MB $750

A true rarity and one of the most impressive looking bobbing heads you will see. This is the 16" Lennon Promo doll that was made in very limited quantities to promote the Beatles Carmascot set. These were not available for sale and only a handful of these promos are known to exist. I was lucky to have one over a year ago (it was restored and went for over $3,000) and I was doubtful I'd ever get another.

This one is all original with beautiful coloring and gloss along with a perfect signature decal. The only flaws are a very light hairline to right side of jaw and the end of the guitar is broken off. I actually had it here for a few days and didn't notice the end was missing. The head rim is in nice shape and the gold paint is very good with just a few misses in the back. I've kept it original for the auction, if the winner wants to have the guitar fixed and the hairline cleaned up I can arrange that for an extra $100, its up to you.$1350

02 New York Yankees Black Player Rare NrMt+ MB $750

A very scarce doll, particularly in top all original condition, I believe the last few Yanks I've seen over the years have all been restored. This one is solid, the colors and gloss are very good, the decals are too with just a couple of misses. Front is a nice bright white, back is good with just a bit of natural toning. Head is in great shape with just a tiny scratch to rim and one very faint surface hairline in the rear that is imbedded in the hair and hard to find (the flash makes it look more obvious than it is). A great looking, truly tough doll that I've seen sold for as much as $6600 in the past. If you're looking for one now is a good time.$1665

03 Boston Red Sox Black Player Gem NrMt MB $500

The Red Sox example from the Black Player set has always been a toughie and seldom do you see a "Realistic Face" example with original colors and gloss like this one. Rich red coloring and the head in particular is extremely shiny. Decals are solid and there are no chips, cracks or hairlines anywhere. I'll call this one Gem NrMt because I did spot a small touch up to the brim with my blacklight, otherwise he's mint and as nice as they come. Comes with the Green Base box which has tape around it and no team stamp.$1074

04 Roger Maris Mini Gem NrMt in Picture Box MB $300

Beautiful little Maris mini in his neat original box. Gem colors and gloss with perfect decals. All original except for a small touch up to the top of his hat. Only other flaw is a nick and 2 light hairlines to the left side, rest is gem mint. Box has had it's cover taped back on but it looks great with a super picture label.$330

05 Willie Mays Dark Face NrMt+ MB $250

An all original Mays in very nice condition, this is the original "Dark Face" variety which usually has condition issues. Colors and gloss are solid, decals are pretty good (especially for a Mays) with just some light wear. No cracks or hairlines, just a few tiny scattered pinpoints and some minor hidden paint scrapes under the head rim. Solid.$275

06 Mickey Mantle Square Base Original NrMt/Mt MB $280

It's always a pleasure finding a true unrestored Mantle doll in minty condition. Most Mantle's are either banged up or restored to Gem Minty condition (and, unfortunately sold as Gem Mint). This one is strong, no chips, cracks or hairlines and perfect decals and logos. Just a hint of natural toning is about the only flaw, but if you ask me that is the way he should look.$666

07 Roger Maris Original Square Base NrMt MB $250

Like the preceding Mantle, it's getting hard to find Maris dolls in nice shape that haven't been restored. Often an ugly doll, this one is super with nice gloss. Body is solid with just some natural toning, decals and logos are strong. Only flaws I can find are a very hard to spot micro hairline to side and a factory touch up to side of brim, neither of which detract.$307

08 Los Angeles Dodgers Drysdale Batter Nice NrMt MB $180

A pretty tough early 60's example, this is the batter from the 3 doll Dodgers Drysdale set. Hard to find these dolls with bright colors like this one has. He's in nice original shape, only flaws are some scattered pinpoints to the paint, mostly to rear of hat and one to the crease where his shoe meets the base. There's a small mold irregularity to the right side of his jaw but that was the way he was made so it's not technically considered a flaw. No cracks or hairlines.$218

09 New York Rangers 1968 Gold Base Gem NrMt+ MB $350

A real beauty and one of the toughest dolls from this hard to find set. Gem gloss with beautiful colors. All original with sharp decals. No cracks or hairlines, the only minor flaws are a few scattered pinpoints to the paint, none on the face or head. Rim is just about perfect with just a tiny chip to the inner part of rim on the right side.$1264

10 Montreal Canadiens 1968 Gold Base Rare MB $350

This is the first Montreal Gold Base doll I've had which tells you a bit about how scarce they are.. This one is a beauty with great colors, gloss and paint. Chest decal is perfect, base decal is good with just a few light misses. The only flaws are small scuffs to the paint on either side of the head below the ear. As a bonus this one comes with it's original stamped box. The box for these are rather plain however they are next to non existent for those of you that value boxes.$1006

11 Los Angeles Kings 1968 Gold Base Gem MB $350

They don't come much nicer looking. This example from the tough Gold Base set has had some minor professional restoration but you need a black light and a trained eye to find it. Gem minty colors and gloss, absolutely perfect decals, no chips, cracks or flaws of any kind .$591

12 Chicago Black Hawks 1968 Gold Base Gem MB $240

From the 1968 Gold Base set, sometimes referred to as the Gordie Howe series. This one is very nice with solid colors and gloss and sharp decals. One light hairline to the left side of rim has been professionally cleaned up a bit and is hard to spot. Otherwise just about perfect.$240

13 New England Whalers Blue Base Hockey Rare NrMt+ MB $300

Along with the Boston Braves doll that I offered last time, this is the toughest doll in the hard to find Blue Base Hockey set which includes the Crusaders and Whalers (WHA), Boston Braves (minor league) and Bruins (NHL). This is a strong example, the colors and gloss are very nice and the chest decal is solid. Pretty much free of the mold problems normally found here, the only flaws are some light nicks to the rear head rim and some very minor paint rubs to the side of the base. A very sharp example of a tough doll.$681

14 Cleveland Crusaders Blue Base Hockey NrMt+ MB $140

Nice original example from the Blue Base Hockey set which includes the Crusaders and Whalers (WHA), Boston Braves (minor league) and Bruins (NHL). A fairly tough doll to find and often has condition problems. This one is strong with nice colors and gloss and a perfect chest decal. A touch of roughness around the rim, a factory mold flaw to side of neck and a couple of tiny pinpoints to the base are the only flaws, all minor. $205

15 Boston Bruins Blue Base Hockey NrMt MB $140

Here's the 3rd example from the Blue Base Hockey set which includes the Crusaders and Whalers (WHA), Boston Braves (minor league) and Bruins (NHL). Nice colors and gloss, chest decal is good with just a small miss or two. Only flaws are nicks to rear head rim and left shoulder and some spots where the shellac missed on bottom of the head, visible only if you tilt him up. Nice original example.$140

16 Hershey Bears Hockey Nodder Lovely MB $240

Probably would be one of the nicer looking examples of this minor league hockey doll from the early 60's. Looks minty on the shelf with nice coloring and gloss and a perfect decal. Close inspection reveals a couple of light hairlines to the jaw area that have been firmed up but they are very faint and don't detract at all on display.$341

17 Los Angeles Blades Hockey Nodder NrMt

Another nice minor league Hockey Bobbing Head, this is the LA Blades on the larger blue square base, the same mold as the 1962 Square Base NHL set. He's a beauty that looks mint on display, the only flaws are 2 touched up chips, one on the glove and one on the side of hair that blend in well and are hidden on display. Nice colors, gloss and a strong decal.$344

Nice looking example from the full size 1962 Square Base set of the 6 original NHL franchises. Nice colors and gloss, no cracks or hairlines. Base decal is good, chest decal is complete with two splits. Scrape to rear of pants is the only real flaw, a nice looking original example.$212

19 Detroit Red Wings 1962 Square Base Gem NrMt+ MB $140

Another good looking nodder from the original 1962 full sized NHL Square Base set. Lovely colors and gloss with solid decals. No cracks or hairlines, only minor flaws are a couple of paint flecks to the side and rear of the uniform. Nice.$400

One more from the full size 1962 NHL Square Base set. Gem colors and gloss, perfect decals. One small hairline to chin that is hidden on display and a well disguised touch up to the head rim are the only flaws. A beautiful display doll.$228

21 Miami Dolphins 1965 AFL Earpad MB $280

Another of the tougher dolls from the 1965-68 Earpad set featuring the old AFL teams. A pretty solid example with some toning to areas of shellac on the helmet. Flaws are some marks and nicks to the rear of helmet, otherwise he's fine. Chest and base decals are good, helmet decals and stripe show some typical chipping.$525

22 Boston Patriots 1965 AFL Earpad Nodder NrMt MB $280

This is one of several tough dolls from the 1965-68 AFL Earpad set. It's a bright shiny doll with great coloring. Chest and base decals are good as is the AFL logo on the base. Patriot logos on helmet are pretty good too. One micro hairline in rear.

Only other real flaw is a circular area on the top of the head that is just a bit discolored. It looks like someone tried to clean it up with water resulting in a bit of decal loss to top of stripe that has been touched up. Not real noticeable and doesn't detract much.$544

Lovely example from the nice 1965-67 Gold Base NFL set. Colors and gloss are very nice. Base decal is solid, chest decal is good with just a tiny miss or two. No cracks or hairlines, only flaws are some minor marks to the helmet and a bit of a color fade to the helmet decals. A solid, good looking example.$197

27 Wisconsin Square Base College Nodder Tough Gem NrMt MB $240

One of the tougher College dolls, many fakes are out there so you have to be careful. Beautiful colors and gloss, no cracks or hairlines. Only minor flaws are a tiny nick to the top of the embossed W on the helmet (white spot to bottom of the W that you see in the picture is camera glare), some light chipping to base corners and very minor pinpoint flaking to pads under the head rim. A very nice condition doll that is pretty hard to come by.$266

This is from the smaller (5.5") CFL set. Nice green coloring, solid gloss and decals. Only flaws are some scattered paint touch ups, none in the front. Nice looking little guy that's fairly tough to find.$358

31 Hula Bowl 1968 Souvenir Nodder MB $80

A neat doll that was sold in the concession stands at the NFL All Star Game in Hawaii in the late 60's. It has the 1968 Gold Base mold with the Hula Bowl and Hawaii decals. Nice and colorful, the head rim has had some work done and looks mint. Body is in nice shape with just some wear to the shoulder top decals which are mostly gone.$159

32 Bob's Big Boy Advertising Nodder Gem MB $200

For a long time this would have been the highlight of any non sports collection, this bright and colorful doll from the well known burger franchise was extremely popular. It was the first non sport example to fetch a $1000 price tag! The price has come way down over the years so now I consider it one of the better bargains out there. This one is a beauty, he's had some smoothing of the head rim and a light professional cleaning and looks gem mint on the shelf.$338

From the very tough Warner brothers set, this is the cute Porky Pig example. Looks minty on the shelf with nice bright colors and shine. Has had some head rim nicks professionally fixed up and a light cleaning but it's pretty tough to spot unless you're an expert.$225

I find this to be one of the tougher dolls from the 1967-72 Gold base set, particularly difficult in minty looking condition. This one is an absolute beauty with gem like colors and gloss. Decals are strong with just a couple of misses to the O on the base. I needed a black light to note a small touch up to the brim and a very faint cleaning to the uniform, rest is all original and beautiful.$220

A couple of light surface hairlines in rear and a nick or two in the rear and to the rim are the only flaws.$110

This doll can be found with or without the M logo on the hat, without it he's not worth much, with it he does much better. Beautiful colors and gloss, no cracks or hairlines. Only flaws are a paint nick to hat and a very light rub to the paint on the brim. Looks super and cute as hell with the pug nose, probably a Kail designed nodder.$40

50 Los Angeles Rams 1960 Wood Base Gold Jersey Variation Gem NrMt+ MB $300

Tough Rams variation with the gold jersey and oversized base. This doll was quickly replaced by the traditional blue jersey example on the standard base and it remains one of the keys to the set. Beautiful original example with sharp colors and logos. Can't find any cracks or hairlines, the only flaws are some minor paint scraping underneath the helmet on the neck stem and some natural roughness to the sides of the base.$413

One of the nicer looking dolls you will see from this series. It's a minty looking doll that is all original other than the added brown helmet stripes. A tiny hairline in rear and some light pinpoints to the shoulder pad area are the only flaws.$92

This is the maroon jersey, yellow pants and Indian head helmet decal variation. Like the previous yellow example this one has been beautifully restored to gem mint condition. Looks super on the shelf.$169

59 Denver Broncos 1968 Gold Base Blue Variation Super Gem NrMt/Mt in Box MB $200

I received a small gorgeous collection of these 1968 Gold Base (Merger Series) dolls, all original with out of the box colors and gloss. Check out the Bronco, Falcon, Oiler, Charger, Viking, Chief and Jet dolls, you won't find too many that look better and they are all quite scarce in this condition. This is the tough Blue Uniform Bronco variation. Absolutely gorgeous colors and paint, it glows on the shelf. The decals are spectacular too. No cracks or hairlines, super head rim. For those that are really picky I found a tiny flake to the right cheek and top of helmet stripe. It doesn't matter because you won't find a more gorgeous doll anywhere. Comes with a box but the Sticker is ripped so no team name.$578

60 Atlanta Falcons 1968 Gold Base Super Gem Nr/Mt in Box MB $100

This is the Falcons example. This is an extremely under rated doll in my opinion, its pretty tough and almost impossible to find in this condition. Blazing red colors and awesome decals. He has some scattered nicks and flakes and a small ding to the crease where the shoulder meets the collar. Not perfect but a super example that will stand out on your shelf. Original box with Falcons sticker is in good shape with just some browning marks.$177

61 Houston Oilers 1968 Gold Base Super Gem NrMt/Mt In Box

Generally regarded as one of the more available of the Gold Bases, well maybe its not the toughest but trust me when I tell you that dolls from this set with like new colors and gloss and perfect decals are next to impossible to find. I can't imagine finding a better one, I'll be real picky and mention a couple of tiny pinpoints which you could find on any doll. Other than that I'll mention that there was a tiny factory mold flaw in rear (maybe a production hairline) that was covered up during production. It doesn't mean anything but I have to find something negative and that's all I can come up with. Comes with a box with a torn sticker , no team name. $221

62 Minnesota Vikings 1968 Gold Base Super Gem ExMt in Box MB $120

This is the Vikings example. Gem colors and gloss, great decals. This one does have scattered paint flakes to the helmet and some micro hairlines and chipping to the rear rim but still looks great. Nice shiny example that comes with his box without a sticker.$145

63 New York Jets 1968 Gold Base Super Gem NrMt in Box MB $120

This is the Jets example. Anyone familiar with this set may know how hard it is to find a Jet without cracking to the head which was a very weak spot on this doll. One of the nicer I've seen with gem colors and gloss and super decals. Only flaw I can find are what looks like were hairlines during the production in the rear that were patched up and more heavily shellacked. Head is slightly darker on the rear left side due to some toning of that shellac but it doesn't show on display. Otherwise a beauty. Original Jets box is included.$200

64 San Diego Chargers 1968 Gold Base Super Gem NrMt/Mt in Box

This is the Charger example, he's a beauty like the others with gem colors and gloss and super decals. A very tough find in this condition. No cracks or hairlines anywhere. If I wanted to nitpick I would mention a few very minor nicks to the top of the helmet, a couple of which are tiny factory flaws. Find me a nicer charger and I'll buy you a beer.. Comes with his original box with Charger sticker.$550

65 Kansas City Chiefs 1968 Gold Base Super Gem ExMt in Box MB $60

This is the KC Chief example, like the others it has blazing colors and gloss and sharp decals. This one probably got banged while in his box as he does have a hairline to his chinstrap, one to his left side and one in rear. All hidden on display so he looks gem mint on the shelf. Super shiny doll that comes in his original box with sticker.$98

66 Dallas Cowboys 1968 Gold Base Blue Helmet Variation MB $100

Here's the Cowboys variation with the turquoise like pants and helmet. Nice bright colors, decals sshow some light wear but not to bad. He's had some scattered touch ups and a repair to rear of helmet but looks good. Helmet stripe is great which can be difficult to find. Only noticeable flaws are a couple of pinpoints and a tiny scratch to the chin strap. $123

67 Nebraska Cornhuskers Baggy Shirt Toes Up 1st One I've Had Gem NrMt MB $200

Without a doubt one of the toughest college dolls to find. I've only seen a Nebraska example once before, years ago, and that one had painted logos rather than decals. A beautiful yellow and red color combo, you won't see these colors on many dolls. Gloss is great, chest decal is perfect, base decal is OK with just a few small misses. A beautiful all original doll whose only flaws are some very light chipping under the left side of the helmet and a faint hairline to rear headrim and upper back. Rare and gorgeous, a nice combination for you college collectors. $415

68 Mississippi State Toes Up Rare ExMt MB $200

Very tough Miss State example, I've only seen it a couple of times. They changed their name from the Maroons to the Bulldogs in 1961 but I guess the "Maroons" decals were already produced, the few that I've seen all were Maroons example. Obviously rare, the only flaws are a hairline in rear and one through the right side facemask. I took a closeup of the crack, it's much less noticeable with the naked eye. Decals, color and gloss are all very solid. $847

01 Oakland Raiders Rare Wood Base With Eye Patch Gem MB $500

One of the rarer dolls out there, this is a very early Oakland Raider wood base with the eye patch. If you see one of these every few years you're lucky. This is the real deal (a Raider that appeared on EBay recently was not). The head on this doll was lined inside with cork and then covered with papier mache. He's had some nicks and cracks to the helmet expertly fixed up and looks gem mint on the shelf. Quite a rare find $817

02 Cleveland Browns Kissing Pair Gem MB $350

The most popular and toughest pair from the 1962-64 NFL Kissing Pairs set. Bright shiny examples with lovely coloring and a nice decal, no chips or cracks. If you look inside the right side of his head you can see evidence of a repair but it's impossible to spot otherwise. Gorgeous pair that will really enhance your collection.$466

03 Houston Oilers Type 4 AFL Toes Up Gem ExMt MB $350

This is the Type 4 Oilers example. Often confused with the 1961 AFL doll. This also has a white base like the 1961 AFL doll, but is the "Bobbie Style" (shirt tucked in), rather than the baggy shirt. Extremely rare, I only know of 6 of these. Beautiful coloring, gloss and decals. Only flaws are some rim damage and hairlines that are all well hidden on display.$484

04 Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris Minis Gem NrMt+ MB $500

Great chance to pick up both of the M&M minis in one shot. Maris is an all original beauty with super gloss and coloring. One minor nick to right side of rim and a tiny flake to side of base are the only flaws. Mantle is a beauty also, mostly original with some minor, impossible to spot areas of restoration (hat button and small nick to side of head rim) that you need a black light to find. The key to the 1967-72 Gold Base set and a very condition sensitive doll. He's usually found with paint problems and horrible decals. This one is very solid, colors and gloss are good, decals are also good with just a couple of misses. No chips, cracks or hairlines. All original except for a small touchup to the hat button. One of the better Mays Gold Bases that you will see.$468

06 San Diego Chargers Rare 1965 AFL Gold Base MB $300

One of only 4 examples of this doll that I've seen or heard of, up until a couple of years ago it was not believed that this doll even existed. Suffice it to say that it's quite rare and one of only 5 AFL dolls known in this set. This one has had some restoration done and looks gem minty with bright colors and gloss and no cracks or hairlines. Decals have darkened some but overall they're not too bad. If you like rarities or need this for your 1965-67 Gold Base set here's your chance. $439

07 San Francisco 49'ers 1965 Gold Base Rare Gem NrMt MB $300

Another very scarce example from the nice 1965-67 Gold Base set. Only a couple of years ago this doll was considered to be non-existent. This example has bright shiny coloring, decals are pretty good with just some chipping to the helmet stripe and a couple of small notches to the side helmet decals. No cracks or hairlines, a beautiful example that probably won't show up again any time soon.$385

08 Baltimore Colts Scarce 1965 Gold Base Lovely Ex+ MB $200

This is the 3rd of 3 scarce dolls listed from this set. I can't remember ever having this doll for sale.. Some well hidden chipping to the head rim lowers this to ex+ but appearance wise he's a beauty. Beautiful coloring, solid gloss and the decals are pretty good too. A hairline to rear and a light surface scrape to neck (not a crack) are the only other flaws. Displays beautifully and very hard to come by.$266

09 Pittsburgh Steelers 1965 Gold Base Gem MB $200

Not as rare as the other 3 listed from this set but one of the prettier and most popular dolls, this is the Steeler with the "apron style" shoulder pads from the nice 1965-67 set. My black light tells me that this one has had a light cleaning and some work to the rim but it's impossible to spot with the naked eye. Looks gem mint with bright clean colors, solid decals and no chips, cracks or hairlines.$266

10 Rare Boston Braves Blue Base Hockey Nodder Gem NrMt MB $240

One of only a few Hockey dolls that I have never had to offer... until now. Obviously a tough doll to find, one of the scarcer Hockey examples out there. This was part of the 4 team 1972 Blue Base Set which features the Braves (AHL), Crusaders (WHA), Whalers (WHA) and Bruins (NHL). In super condition with original gem colors and gloss and a perfect Braves chest decal. Only flaws are a small nick to the top of the hair swirl (easy touch up if you prefer) and another tiny nick to the side of the headrim. Rare and gorgeous.$808

This is Big Tex, a replica of the huge statue that greets you when you enter the Texas State Fair. Like most of these, the adjustable arm has had some restoration done, looks like the hand was cracked and reshaped. This is a neat and rather tough variation. The body is the typical green base mold but the head is very similar to the original 1960 Color Base dolls, although just a bit more streamlined. This variation can only be found on the Yankees and examples. It's in super condition with solid coloring and gloss and nice decals. If you examine him closely you're able to spot a couple of very light surface hairlines near the rim but they are very minor and hard to spot. Looks mint on display, a very nice example.$248

One of the first Baseball dolls, produced by a company named Buddy Flex. These rubber dolls were used as the prototype for the very small and short lived 1960 Wood base dolls which preceded the 1960 Color Base set. (Got all that?).

Anyway, this is part of a 5 doll set that includes the Braves, Dodgers, Giants, White Sox and Pirates, The base has some wear as you can see but he is otherwise in pretty good shape with decent coloring and just some light wear. $88

I've never seen these before but if they were added later it was a great job because the paint matches and they look great. $162

I've seen this doll 2 or 3 times in the last 10 years but have never been able to get one to offer. Very scarce and while this one does have some hidden flaws (chip and crack to rim and a series of very light hairlines side and rear) it looks gem mint on the shelf. The light blue paint is fabulous, it has lovely gloss and the decals are perfect. Will be one of the nicer looking dolls on your shelf and don't expect to see many more being offered.$566

01 Rare Seattle Rainiers Drysdale Style Catcher 1st One Seen Ex+ MB $500

Back in December 2005 I auctioned a rare Rainier pitcher example from the "Drysdale Series" dolls. This is a 3 doll set with a pitcher, batter and catcher and previously only Dodger examples were known. Never saw a Rainier before and have not seen one since until now. This is the Catcher doll. He has some scattered dings but overall is in good shape. All original with nice coloring and gloss. Three tiny paint nicks to face, a chip to side of rim and thumb of glove are the main flaws. A couple of very faint hairlines to the rim and pinpoint flakes don't detract at all. As rare as they come.. $605

02 Cleveland Indians Black Player Gem MB $500

A very tough to find "Happy Face" version Indian from the Black Player Green Base set. Body is solid with super decals. Some chips to the head rim were professionally cleaned up, otherwise the head is perfect with super coloring and gloss and a very hard to find flawless hat decal. One of the nicer Indian black dolls that you will see.$860

03 Philadelphia Phillies Black Player Gem NrMt MB $500

Super looking "Happy Face" version from the tough 1962-64 Black Face set. Colors and gloss are sharp, decals are great too. Looks gem minty on display but my black light picked up a light professional cleaning to the uniform and some touch ups to the rim.$605

04 Mao Tse Tung Scarce Political Nodder Gem MB $500

Without a doubt the rarest of the political dolls and one of the toughest of all the non sports dolls to find. This is only the 3rd one I've been able to offer over the years. The doll appears to be gem mint, however close inspection finds some beautifully done work to some nicks and chips to the head rim, only way to spot it is by looking inside of the head. Colors and gloss are super, no remaining hairlines, chips or cracks. Humorous decal which states "So Who You Think Start Asian Flu?" is in great shape with just a slight factory cut to the middle of the bottom line. You won't find a nicer looking one, if you can find one at all.$550

Historically one of the tougher football dolls to find, not many of these were made. This example has had some light work done to the helmet and a cleaning and looks super on the shelf. Bright colors and gloss, solid decals. Rare doll that looks fabulous.$605

09 Rare Kansas City Chiefs 1965 AFL Gold Base Gem MB $200

One of the more scarce football dolls out there, one of just 5 AFL dolls known from this set and it rarely shows up. This one is gorgeous with super colors and gloss and solid decals. No chips, cracks or repairs. My blacklight tells me that the red paint has been touched up throughout although you can't tell by looking at it. Very tough and looks mint on the shelf.$300

10 Maris and Mantle White Bases NrMt MB $400

It has become very difficult to find nice original superstar dolls, they normally are either really beat up or have been restored to look gem mint (unfortunately the restoration is rarely mentioned). This pair is all original and, while they have some flaws, look great.

Maris is in strong NrMt condition. Nice coloring and gloss with just some natural toning in rear. Decal is real nice. No cracks or hairlines, the only real flaw to the material is a small scrape to rear of head rim and a tiny nick to right shoulder. Mantle is the more scarce "Muscles" version with the round base. Coloring and gloss are even better than the Maris doll, glossier and a shade brighter. Decal is strong. Has a dent to top of right shoulder, hairline left side and rear and some light marks to the paint on left cheek. Both look super on the shelf.$632

12 Denver Bears Wedge Base Ex+ MB $300

A very difficult doll to find from the 1970-72 Wedge Base set. The only minor league example in the set and not many of these were produced. This doll normally has some problems as does this example. Head is in nice shape with solid gloss and a pretty good hat decal. A couple of light chips to the rim and a faint hairline to jaw are the flaws. Body and base are in good shape with just some areas of excess shellac. As is normal the decals have some flaws and misses as you can see in the pictures. Overall not a bad example of this condition challenged doll.$485

Beautiful minor league example from the 1967-72 Gold Base set, one of the toughest of the set. Has nice bright original coloring, decals are super with just factory seam splits to the chest and hat decals. 95% original, just some chipping to the rear of the head that was professionally touched up and a couple hidden touch ups to the body paint. Only flaws are a tiny nick to inner part of the head rim and a small surface craze mark to rear shoulder. Lovely looking example.$330

The first Cubs example made and one of only two Cubbie examples with the boy face rather than the mascot head (the 1970 Wedge Base is the other). Nice original example with no major flaws. A couple of tiny nicks to the rim, some minor scattered dings and flakes to body and base are the flaws. Pinpoint touch up to brim. Looks good and a pretty tough doll.$176

Looks like it's fresh out of the box with original bright white coloring and beautiful gloss. Decals are great too. A tiny bit of chipping to left side of the rim is the only hidden flaw. The first run of White Base dolls came in an illustrated box which are very scarce. This Yanks box is nice but for a split down the front. You could probably put a spot of glue in the split and it would look fine. (I'll do it for you if you want)$154

Glossy pair of 1961-63 White Base dolls, includes the fairly scarce "Anaheim" Angels variation and the popular Orioles mascot. Both dolls have had some cleaning and are nice and shiny. Angel has a few light hairlines coming up from rim, a couple of flaws to the face and some light wear to left side of rim. O's example has some chipping to inner head rim and some light craze marks to feet. No base decal on this one. $242

30 So Neat!! Colts Nodder Beer Lamp Check it out. Gem MB $140

One of the neater pieces of vintage bobbing head memorabilia that I've seen in a long time. It's a working lamp featuring a Colts 1960 Wood Base doll attached to an original base along with a vintage National Bohemian Beer bottle with the old Colt logos on it. The shade is a replacement, the rest is original. Stands about 16" high and works. What a great addition for a bobbing head nut!$186

Some 1960 Wood Bases came with the Champions 1960's logo on the base, it's much tougher to find this 1961 Square Base example with the logo. He's in very nice NrMt + condition with solid colors and gloss, great logos, no cracks or hairlines. Very slight bit of excess shellac to helmet is a minor flaw. (Note that the spot you see under his nose is not a chip, just a small dimple on the mold that reflected my camera flash. Very nice doll.$134

Like the Chiefs doll following, this is one of the prettiest original nodders that you will find anywhere, much nicer than the pictures show. Out of the box colors and shine, perfect decals. Main flaws are some hairlines coming up from rim, the one on the chinstrap is a bit larger but is partially hidden on display) and a bit of chipping to the rim. Note the camera flash accentuates the hairlines, in real life they aren't nearly as visible. As an added bonus this one comes with the gorgeous lighter blue helmet which is usually found only on the blue jersey variation. Flaws or not, this will be one of the most beautiful dolls on your shelf.$322

61 New York Giants 1968 Gold Base Gem NrMt in Box MB $80

This Giants example has beautiful coloring and gloss, all original with no cracks or hairlines. Decals have some scattered light misses but overall are pretty good. Small paint chip to rear of helmet is the only real flaw. Original box is OK, has been taped and writing on the end. It has a Giants sticker that has been crossed out at some point but is still readable.$80

62 Boston Patriots 1968 Gold Base Scarce Gem MB $140

Probably the rarest of the 1968 set, this doll was replaced very early in the run by the New England doll and remains very scarce. This example has had some helmet cracks restored but it's almost impossible to tell and looks minty with lovely coloring and gloss. Base decal has some misses, otherwise the decals are nice.$200

This doll used to be fairly available as College dolls go but it has really dried up over the last several years, its become kind of tough. He's an all original beauty with super coloring and gloss and solid decals, Only flaws are a hidden scrape to left side of head rim and a pinpoint nick to corner of left shoulder pad. Both are quite minor and otherwise he's just about flawless.$220

I don't know about you, but I find this to be the prettiest football doll made. The rich royal blue colors are gorgeous and not often found. Tough doll too, doesn't show up often. Gem colors and gloss, super decals, no chips or cracks. Looks like a few nicks to the headrim have been restored to minty condition, only flaw is a tiny scratch to left side of chinstrap. Not quite all original but it may well be the most beautiful doll on the winner's shelf. (Note: pix are OK but it looks so much nicer in person).$293

Like the UConn doll listed, this is another of the truly beautiful College examples with rich dark maroon coloring. Gloss is super too, as are the decals. 01 Green Bay Packers Kissing Pair Eyes Variation NrMt+ in Box MB $500

This is the very difficult to find Packers variation from the 1962-64 NFL Kissing set. As you know, normally the boy's eyes are closed and the majorette's are open, this is reversed here. It wasn't until a few years ago that I saw my first example, it's shown up a few times since but is still very scarce. Nice original condition with solid decals. The boy has a few very minor scattered pinpoints, she has some very light chipping to inner head rim. Otherwise solid with nice colors and gloss. Box is in good shape, it's taped so there's no team label but looks good. $627

02 Oakland Raiders 1961 AFL Toes Up Gem Ex+ MB $500

One of the tougher and more popular examples from the original 1961 AFL Toes Up set. This Raider looks great on display with the only real flaw being chipping and light hairlines to the head rim which doesn't show on display. Colors and gloss are very nice. This is the two decal version with Raiders on chest and Oakland on base, both decals are complete with some minor misses. Looks minty on the shelf despite the flaws.$2420

03 San Francisco 49'ers Black Toes Up Gem NrMt+ MB $500

One of the tougher examples from the scarce 1962-64 Black Toes Up NFL set. Beautiful coloring and gloss, solid decals. Only flaw is some paint touch ups to the feet area, impossible to spot and hard to see even with a blacklight.$666

These type 4's (ball horizontal, bullet shaped head, different colored bases) are the toughest and most popular of the Toes Up series. This Skins example is very hard to find and looks gorgeous. Like new colors and gloss, super decals. No chips or cracks and all original except for some touchups to top of the shoulder pads that I needed my black light to pick up. A beauty.$911

06 Tennessee Vols Type 4 Toes Up 3rd One I've Seen NrMt+ MB $500

One of the most difficult of all the College dolls, this Type 4 Toes Up example is only the 3rd Tennessee doll that I've ever seen. Nice colors and gloss, perfect decals throughout. A couple of very faint hairlines to the rim and some natural toning and minor paint roughness to the helmet are the only flaws. The flaws are incidental, he looks great.$605

07 Illinois Type 4 Toes Up Gem NrMt MB $500

The toughest of the College dolls, these type 4's are colorful and very hard to find. This Fighting Illini example has bright colors and super gloss. Decals are solid with just a couple of tiny misses. Only flaws are a few light hairlines to the rim and a few scattered pinpoint flakes to sides of helmet. Great looking doll.$500

08 Kansas City Athletics Green Base NrMt+ in Box MB $350

Possibly the toughest doll from the 1963-65 Green Base set and this one is in great condition. Nice bright colors, solid gloss and nice decals throughout. No cracks or hairlines. Only two minor flaws. a small nick to right ear and a small dent to back underside of head rim, neither visible on display. Popular "crooked cap style" that looks great. Original Green Base box is in pretty nice shape with no stamp.$466

A double bonus here, a very hard to find variation in gorgeous like-new condition. A short error run caused some Senator dolls to be produced with the LA Angels Halo hat, it was apparently caught quickly so not many of these escaped the factory. This one is absolutely gorgeous, beautiful coloring and gloss, very sharp decals. No chips, cracks or hairlines. Original stamped box is super too. Folks, they don't come any better than this one!$300

12 Yosemite Sam Warner Brothers NrMt/Mt MB $300

One of the rare Warner Brothers examples in terrific all original condition. Super colors and gloss, perfect decal and his beard is in top shape. About the only things I can find here are a couple of tiny nicks to the edge of rear base and a very faint hairline hidden under the beard (I tried to picture it but it's so minor it's hard to see even close up). I believe this is the first one I've had to offer so you know it's a very tough doll to come across.$535

Neat little set of four, includes The Fisherman, The Hunter, The Bowler and The Golfer. Very detailed and in fabulous condition with super colors and gloss. 18 Chicago Black Hawks Small High Skates NrMt MB $200

The NHL High Skates doll come in two sizes, the regular size and the smaller (roughly 5.5") "Intermediate High Skates". This is the smaller version with the base decal. All of these are pretty tough and this one has nice bright colors and solid gloss. Indian decal on chest is super, as is the base decal. Flaws are two light hairlines coming up from the rim which are pretty faint and a tiny nick to hair and to the paint in the rear. Looks sharp on display.$585

19 B Harlem Globetrotters Nodder NrMt MB $140

This is currently one of the best bargains in the hobby. Several years ago the Trotter dolls consistently sold in the $350-450 range but for some reason have come down in price. Not a bad time to pick one up as it’s one of the more colorful dolls you will see. This one has very nice coloring and gloss and a solid chest and suitcase decal. A couple of tiny nicks to rear of head and a small mold smudge to nose are the only flaws. Corners of the base have some light touch ups. Looks good.$140

Hairlines to rim on both sides of the helmet but don't show on display (that little scratch like hairline to chin strap in the picture is magnified by the flash, I didn't find it until I saw the picture and had to search for it). Has a few light scrapes to shoulder areas but overall looks good.$248

This one has nice bright coloring and gloss. 49HRS decal is perfect, base decal is complete with a few small misses, left helmet decal has some issues. Has a few light hairlines, minor chipping to rim and some scattered light wear to helmet. Pretty doll despite the minor flaws. Comes with a 49er box in pretty nice shape.$120

Now here's a tough college example, this is the Air Force Academy doll with the full lightening bolt decals on the helmet. Looks gem mint but I did find just a bit of work done to the sides of the helmet with my black light, impossible to spot.$198

01 Boston Patriots Rare Type 4 AFL Toes Up Only 4 Known MB $750

One of the rarest dolls out there. This is a type 4 toes Up Boston doll and is only the 4th example that I've ever seen. (The three previous examples all sold for between $3000 and $4200 !). Fabulous looking example with super colors and gloss and great decals all around. No cracks or hairlines or repairs, although my blacklight spotted some paint touchups and a light professional cleaning. There is a very small circular mold flaw under the right eye but it's very minor and doesn't detract. Extremely rare and pretty doll.

02 Dallas Texans 1961 AFL Toes Up Gem MB $500

Beautiful looking Texan from the popular 1961 AFL Toes Up set. All of the AFL dolls are tough with the Texans being one of the hardest to find. Has had some nick and chips to the head professionally fixed up and looks gem mint on the shelf with super coloring and gloss. State of Texas helmet decals are great, as is the chest decal. Dallas on the base is pretty good too with just some pinpoint misses. Great looking doll that is tough to come by.$952

03 Denver Broncos 1961 AFL Toes Up Gem NrMt MB $500

Another tough example from the 1961-63 AFL Toes Up set. Very pretty doll with super original Bronco color scheme and outstanding gloss. This one has the printed Broncos logo across the chest which I've seen several times over the years on these AFL dolls. Only flaws are a couple of small dings under the head rim, a small nick to the left shoulder and a tiny flake to the edge of base by his right foot. All minor, he's a beauty!$550

04 Mr. and Lady Mets 1967 Mascot Set Rare NrMt MB $500

Very rare pair, only the 2nd pair I've had to offer. Technically not a Bobbing Head but they're similar in size and shape and were sold at Shea Stadium alongside the traditional nodders. Made of a very hard resin type material and are in very nice condition. Bright white colors and solid decals, little if any marks or flakes. Hats are in fine shape with just a little fading. The Lady Met has a replacement pennant, otherwise in great original condition.$748

05 Dodger Weirdo Clean Up with Original Tag NrMt/Mt MB $350

The Weirdos are probably the neatest and most colorful set of all. This Clean Up Dodger is in almost perfect condition and comes with his original handtag which is very hard to find. The colors and gloss are fantastic, decal is great. No cracks, hairlines or touchups of any kind. One very minor nick to rim and back of hair is about the only flaw that I can find and as you can see they're extremely minor. The original handtag reads "I'm ready for that clean up spot, Mr Alston !!" (most say boss rather than Mr. Alston). Tag has a split that was taped in the rear. About as nice as you'll ever find.$1750

06 Dodger Weirdo Leo With Original Tag NrMt/Mt MB $350

Here is the 2nd of four beautiful Weirdos listed, this is the one modeled after Leo Durocher with a hand tag featuring his famous quote, "Nice Guys Always Finish Last..". Like the others this one is gorgeous and just about perfect. Super colors and gloss, great decal. No chips, cracks, hairlines or touch ups. As close to mint as you'll find. Hand tag is in great condition too.$700

07 Dodger Weirdo Crybaby With Original Tag NrMt+ MB $350

Another close to perfect Weirdo. This is the “Crybaby” example with the tag “ The Kids Back Home Usta Give Me Four Strikes!” As with all of these listed, the colors and gloss are super as is the decal. No cracks, hairlines or touch ups. Only minor flaws are a few scattered pinpoint flecks, other than that he’s great. Hand tag is in great shape too.$575

08 Dodger Weirdo Screwball With Original Tag NrMt/Mt MB $350

The last of a super collection of Weirdos, all in gorgeous condition with their rare hand tags. This is the “Screwball” nodder with the tag reading “No Wonder I Couldn’t Hit It… He Threw Me A Screwball !” Like the others, no cracks, hairlines or repairs with great coloring, gloss and decals. As close to mint as these come. Tag has a tear and taped in the back.$512

This is the much tougher realistic face version, most Black Tigers I see are the happy face style. Very nice coloring and gloss, decals are nice too with just a few scattered misses to the Detroit on the base. Tiniest of touch ups to the hat brim that blends in well and a small paint flaw on back are the only problems. No chips, cracks or hairlines. Very nice looking doll that's very undervalued.$732

13 Green Bay Packers 1960 Wood Base NrMt MB $300

If the Rams doll listed previously isn't the toughest doll in the 1960 set than this one is. The wood base Packer was made with a different color scheme than later Pack dolls and doesn't show up often. This one is in great shape with the only problems being a tiny hairline to left rim, a small scrape underneath of helmet strap and a couple of very small marks to helmet. I can't spot any repairs or touch ups although after examining in with my black light I believe it has had just a bit of professional cleaning to the helmet. Impossible to spot and either way it's a great looking doll. $300

14 Dallas Cowboys 1960 Wood Base NrMt MB $300

The 3rd of a trio of hard to find 1960 Wood Bases. This Cowboy remains a tough and popular doll. Colors, gloss and decals are all solid. A couple of very faint hairlines to rim and a few pinpoint touch ups are the only flaws. (Note that the flash from my camera seems to emphasize some of the touch ups, in natural light they are very tough to find). Good looking doll..$551

15 Poll Parrot Advertising Nodder NrMt MB $300

This is a scarce nodder, I believe it's only the 2nd one I've had over the years and it rarely shows up for sale. An advertising doll for Poll Parrot Shoes with an assortment of colors, it really stands out on the shelf. This one is in pretty nice condition, the colors and gloss are good and the decal is strong. No major flaws, just a couple of faint hairlines and some assorted nicks and flecks. There is a spot on the top of his head where the paint has faded a bit but it doesn't show on display. Not quite perfect but very, very hard to find.$363

16 KC Piston Advertising Nodder Gem NrMt MB $250

One of my favorites, the delightful KC Piston doll advertising the Korody-Colyer Corporation. Several of these showed up a couple of years ago but they have dried up again and remain a pretty tough find. This one has super colors and gloss with a solid embossed logo. Base decal is pretty good with just a few light misses. A couple of small hairlines in rear and light smudges to the base and head are the only flaws. Nice doll.$333

17 Rocky Taconite Advertising Nodder Gem MB $200

Another scarce advertising doll, this is the Rocky Taconite doll who's head is actually finished with taconite. Has the unique paper label on the base (a bit of wear around edges), as well as the story of taconite underneath the base (in remarkable condition, it's usually scraped up or missing altogether). The colors are nice and shiny with no real flaws to the doll. It's tough to spot repairs on this doll, but I'm assuming he's had at least some touchups and a cleaning, its free of marks of any kind which is just about impossible based on the composition. Great looking example and a very under rated doll these days. Note that this doll never photograpghs well, the doll in person looks much nicer and shinier than the pictures.$266

18 Miss Six Flags Advertising Nodder First I've Had Gem NrMt MB $200

Believe it or not, this is one of the few dolls out there that I've never had before, yes it is pretty tough.. This Miss Six Flags Advertising doll is in great shape with bright colors and gloss and a perfect logo on the base. A few very light hairlines to rim, two tiny touch ups to hat and some very minor scattered flakes are the only flaws. A very nice looking example that is obviously very tough to come by.$200

An all original set in remarkable condition. Colors and gloss are super, autographs are in great shape too. I can only find two very short hairlines to rear head of George, tiny nicks to rim of George and John and a few areas of paint misses on the base (mainly Ringo). Here's a neat doll that's pretty tough. This is commonly referred to as the "Beatles Haircut" variation. A different mold that is not found on most teams. Body is a gorgeous original shiny white, decals are super. Head is almost perfect with just a tiny touch up to a nick on the brim.$196

25 Mickey Mantle Mini Ex MB MB $250

Here's a rare Mantle mini in the affordable range, has some issues but looks OK. Colors have toned a bit, base signature is strong, Yankees decal on base has been enhanced a bit on the Y and S. Looks like there's been some scattered paint touch ups, just a bit sloppy around the eyebrows. Not the nicest for sure but I've seen them in a lot worse condition.$250

This is an interesting variation, the Giants are only one of a couple of dolls that can be found in this Green Base style. Green base body mold with a head similar to the original 1960 Color Base set. This one has had some light rim work and a cleaning and looks gem on the shelf. Nice looking Cards Green base, always a popular addition. No repairs although it has some discreet touch ups which is very common with this doll, the feathers almost always chip. 55 Oakland Athletics Gold Base White Uniform Variation Gem NrMt MB $140

This is the tougher white uniform variation, the more common A's example has the gold uniform. This one has sharp coloring and gloss, really shines on the shelf. All original, only flaws are a flake to top rear of cap and some scattered light wear to paint, mainly in back. Decals have some issues as you can see.$330

For those of you who like to collect the variations and error dolls this one is a beauty. Astros Gold base with an upside down decal. In beautiful all original condition. 57 Amarillo Sandies High School Toes Up First I've Seen Gem MB $180

This is a rare find, it's an Amarillo Sandies HS example, only the 2nd legitimate decalled High School doll known (Massillon, listed next is the other) and the only example of this doll that I've seen. The Sandies earlier were a legendary Texas program that won 4 State Titles. I doubt too many of these were ordered and this could possibly be the only one that survived. Gorgeous looking doll by the way, some chips to the rim have been cleaned up, otherwise minty looking with strong gloss and perfect decals.$290

58 Massillon Tigers High School Toes Up Gem NrMt+ MB $180

Before the Amarillo doll surfaced this was the only known High school nodder produced. Massillon is a Ohio football power that has won 22 State titles and 9 National titles! In beautiful condition with lovely paint and solid gloss. Decals and helmet stripe are perfect. (note that Massilon was misspelled on the base decal). One very faint hairline in rear and a small scrape under the chin strap, otherwise mint.$240

One of the oddball College dolls, this is a 1965 Gold Base style doll of the LSU Tigers. Has the traditional purple and gold LSU colors and nice decals. Main flaws are a series of hairlines coming up from the rim, looks good on display and actually a pretty tough doll.$262

01 Los Angeles Rams 1965 Realistic Face Previously Unknown Gem NrMt/Mt MB $750

What an interesting hobby! Even after 40 years a doll pops up that we never knew existed. This is a previously unknown LA Ram doll from the tough 1965-68 NFL Realistic Face set. This one appeared on EBay awhile back and there was some question about whether it was a legitimate example. I can tell you without hesitation that this is the real deal and he's absolutely gorgeous. All original paint, gloss and decals throughout, no chips, cracks or hairlines. About the only thing I see here is a light glow to the bottom edge of the head rim when I used my black light which might indicate that the rim was smoothed over or touched up just a bit but it's very difficult to spot where anything was done. I've rechecked it about 5 times and to be honest I don't think any thing has been done but I wanted to mention it anyway. There's just the tiniest of surface dings to the left side head rim, other than that he's as close to mint as you will find. Gorgeous and as rare a doll as there is!$1400

02 San Francisco 49ers Type 4 Toes Up Scarce Gem MB $500

The Type 4's (ball horizontal, bullet head, colored bases) are far and away the toughest of all the Toes Up dolls and this 49'er is one of the rarest of all. I didn't see my first one until a couple of years ago and believe this is only the 3rd one to show up for sale. A beautiful example with glossy coloring and nearly perfect decals. All original but for a light "cleaning" to the helmet, no other flaws. (note that the what looks like a paint flaw to his helmet in the picture is just a slightly heavy shellac area, it does not detract from the appearance at all in real life) Super doll that rarely shows up.$1513

03 Green Bay Packers Rare Open Eyes Kissing Variation Gem MB $500

A rare set that I've only seen a small handful of times over the years. This is the unique Packer kissing pair where the boy's eyes are open and the majorette's are closed. Great looking examples, too, with solid coloring and gloss and great decals. He has a tiny flake to side of helmet (very small right under the G, the larger white spot you see is glare from the camera) and some minor misses to rear base, she has one small scratch-like hairline to right side. Looks to be all original except for a touch up to the rim and helmet which was tough to spot with a black light. Pretty cool pair. $726

04 Baylor Bears Rare Mascot Variation Gem MB $350

This a truly rare doll, only the 2nd time I've seen one for sale. As you may know, the typical Baylor mascot is the gold and green bear (see picture), this is the same mold as the growling California and University of Pacific Bear. It's in beautiful condition with glossy green and gold paint and a strong Baylor logo on the base. It looks minty although my black light shows me a touch up to the ear and a light cleaning, impossible to spot with the naked eye. A lovely rare nodder.$1430

05 Beatles Set in Box Original Condition NrMt/Mt MB $500

Two pretty tough things to find in this offering, a Beatles set in top all original condition and the very hard to find box that they came in. As you may know, the Beatles mold comes with a very thin neck and the head openings are very tight which leads to chipped rims, broken necks, etc. The paint they used was also suspect which led to lots of paint flaking. This set is super, no real problems at all and free of any repairs or touch ups. Solid paint and gloss, about as nice as you'll find. A few scattered minor flaws but nothing of any consequence. I've seen the box go for several hundred dollars by itself, this box is a bit rough with some creasing and rippling but looks OK .Includes the original cardboard holders. $1400

06 Houston Colt 45 Blue Uniform White Base Gem MB $500

This one remains one of the popular and sought after White Base dolls, the tougher dark blue uniform Colt 45 example. This one was only produced during the original first run of dolls, it was then replaced with the traditional white jersey example. A beautiful example that looks gem mint on the shelf although he has had some hidden professional restoration to the shoulder areas and a cleaning that you can spot only if you have a black light. As a bonus it comes with all 4 decals in nearly perfect condition, including the hat and top of base crossed pistol decals which are not always present. $953

07 Kansas City Athletics Gold Base with Green Uniform Gem NrMt+ MB $500

Super looking doll with the colorful Green and Gold uniform. Colors and gloss are solid, decals are strong too with just a couple of tiny misses. All original with just a couple of tiny pinpoint flecks to the upper shoulder area and a tiny surface nick under left side of rim. Great looking example and very much sought after.$970

Nice, shiny realistic face example from the tough 1963-65 Black Player set. Has had some cleaning and paint touchups but looks nice and bright. Decal on chest is a bit light, other two are pretty nice. Only noticeable flaw is some light scraping under the rim. No chips, cracks or hairlines.$550

10 Pittsburgh Pirates White Base Gem NrMt MB $380

Lovely original Pirates White base example, still one of the toughest of the set. Lovely original colors and gloss, perfect decals and logos. Only flaws are a couple of very faint hairlines coming up from the rim that you have to tilt the head to see and a small flake to left side of foot. Under rim is good with just some minor chipping to inner rim.$380

11 Mickey Mantle White Base Ex+ MB $240

Original Mantle doll, has a few issues but looks pretty good. Head has a chip and light hairlines to the rim and rear of button on cap. Body has a bit of toning, light stain on base and a few small nicks. Gloss is pretty good throughout. Not a blazer but not too bad either.$240

Neat bobbing head styled after a beer bottle advertising Falls City Beer. Like most of these that are left it has had some minor damage to the bottom of the bottle, its been professionally fixed up and the only way to tell is to look inside of the bottle. Nice colors and gloss, bright decals that are in very nice shape which is often not the case.$150

20 Colonel Sanders Advertising Nodder NrMt $80

This is a very condition sensitive doll, usually has a lot of paint and mold issues and can often look very dull and washed out. This one is very good with nice colors and gloss. Mold flaws are minimal. A couple of tiny nicks and a mark to left side near ear are the only real material flaws. The decal "Our Colonel" is a bit harder to find than the other decals usually present, it has a few light misses but not bad.$80

21 L.A. County Fair Pig Advertising Nodder Gem NrMt MB $200

Now here's a tough and under rated advertising nodder. This is the pig mascot promoting the Los Angeles County Fair. This is a beautiful example with bright colors throughout. Decal on his briefcase is in great shape with just a minor miss or two. All original and in great shape, only flaws are a light hairline in rear and a few very minor scattered nicks . Very sharp looking doll.$220

23A Big Bad Wolf Rumpus Room NrMt MB $100

One of the toughest of the humorous Rumpus Room set. This is the wolf with the saying "Who's afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?" on the base. Colors and gloss are solid, saying on base has some scattered misses. No cracks or hairlines, just a couple of pinpoints to the paint. Very tough and very nice.$120

23B Race Car and Driver Gem NrMt MB $80

These are neat dolls, this is the #1 racer with the more realistic face (see pix for a sample of the #2 driver). These really look sharp on the shelf, particularly if you pick up a few in the various colors and start your own little Daytona speedway, lol!! This is the green car with gold jersey and red helmet. Nice shiny paint and great details. All original, only flaws are a flake to head and some very light chipping to the rim. Fun!$248

24 Cleveland Crusaders Blue Base Hockey Gem NrMt MB $140

A nice shiny example of one of only two WHA franchises that were made. Terrific coloring and gloss, decal is perfect which is a bit uncommon with this doll. Only flaw is some very light wear to the rim, otherwise solid and nicer than most I've seen.$607

The Jets are a fairly tough find here and this one looks super. 98% original, my black light picked up a few scattered touch ups to the paint but I couldn't find them without it. Colors are bright and glossy. Only material flaws are a very light ding under the rim, tiny scratch to helmet strap and a few scattered pinpoints. Chest, base and AFL decals are nice, side helmet decals have a couple of misses. Good looking example.$532

40A Washington Redskins 1968 Gold Base Yellow Uniform Gem MB $200

The Redskins are the king of variations and this gold and yellow uniform and helmet example is one of the hardest to locate. Has had some professional restoration, but you need to be an expert to spot it. Only flaw worth mentioning is a slightly thin factory paint job to parts of the helmet. Still looks great.$666

01 Rare Houston Colt 45 Black Player NrMt/Mt MB $1000

Would be the most valuable highlight of almost any baseball collection, the Colt 45 Black player still holds the record price for a baseball bobbing head. This is the rarer "Happy Face version" of this scarce doll. What's better is that it's in marvelous all original condition. Lovely gloss, no cracks or hairlines, perfect decals all around. If you want to get picky, there's a tiny pinpoint near the hat decal and a couple of extremely minor hidden flakes to rim. Body is a soft glossy off white with no flaws. You just can't find original untouched examples of this doll in this condition anymore. Go for it. $5325

02 NY Yankees Black Player Rare Gem MB $750

Another rare black doll, probably the 2nd toughest of the bunch. This one has had some light professional restoration done which is hard to spot unless you're an expert. Glossy gem colors and shine, no chips cracks or hairlines. Super decals, this is the painted hat logo variety which is sometimes found on these Yankees. Looks absolutely super.$1952

03 NY Yankees 1960 Wood Base Only 2nd Known MB $500

This is one of the rarest dolls in the hobby, Tim Hunter had one for sale many, many years ago and I'd never seen it before or since. This doll appeared on Ebay for a few hours recently, when the owner realized it's value he did some research and asked me if I would list it for him. Part of a 4 doll set that includes the Dodgers (also in this auction), Giants, and Angels that preceded the Color Base set. This one is all original and in pretty nice shape. Only flaws are a few light hairlines to chin area and some natural toning to the uniform paint. Gloss is very nice as are the NY logos. A seldom seen opportunity to pick up a truly rare doll! Of the 2 Cards examples this real face version is quite a bit tougher to find. This one is super, all original with nice coloring and gloss throughout. Chest and hat decals are strong, base decal has some flaws. One tiny pinpoint fleck to chin if you search, otherwise no chips, cracks or hairlines.$1179

07 Willie Mays Dark Face Original NrMt/Mt in Box With Bonus Model MB $400

Here's a great looking all original Mays Dark Face (tougher than you may think) with his original stamped box. As a bonus you get a very nice 1966 Aurora model featuring Mays' famous catch off of Vic Wertz in the 1954 World Series. I've seen the model go for good money by itself and it displays nicely. The doll is a beauty. The head has gem colors and shine, no cracks or hairlines. Body is solid with nice white coloring and good gloss. Signature on base is super, chest decal is strong with just a couple of tiny misses. Stamped box is in great condition.$440

08 KC Athletics Green Base NrMt/Mt MB $350

This doll was absolutely impossible to find for quite a few years, several have shown up in the last 6 months but I would expect them to dry up again fairly quickly. This one's an all original beauty. Lovely colors and gloss, perfect decals throughout which is next to impossible with this example. No chips cracks or hairlines anywhere. One small white paint drip on left side of base is the only flaw. Super doll.$902

09 Houston Oilers Type 4 AFL Toes Up Gem MB $350

Beautiful example from the very tough AFL Type Four (ball horizontal, various colored bases) set. Rarely shows up for sale. This one has gem colors and gloss, no chips, cracks or hairlines. The decals are just about perfect, including the 2 oil wells on the helmet. Some nicks and cracks to the helmet have been professionally cleaned up, but you need to be an expert with a black light to find out where. Super looking doll that probably won't show up again for a long time.$689

A very rare historical pair, until very recently I hadn't seen any for sale in quite awhile and this is only the 2nd I`ve been able to offer. Will dry up again, trust me on that.. An all original pair (which is even tougher) with super colors and gloss. I searched closely and found couple of short faint hairlines to both rims. Jackie also has a small kissing nick to her lips. Otherwise they are super. The gold decals blend in with the green base which is the norm but otherwise they are complete with only minor misses. $700

Now here's a doll that doesn't come around often! This was a hit movie back in the day and it's the only movie bobbing head that I know of. It's also only the 2nd one I've offered in 7 years.. It's in nice condition with just a tiny nick or two. Looks good on display, the fur around his neck is a touch raggedy and the gloss has dulled a notch but overall very nice. Rare example probably won't show up again too soon.$220

Here's a doll that has dried up lately. The LA Blades minor league hockey example with the larger blue base and the same mold as the 1962 NHL set. (He should probably be included as part of the set) Nice colors and gloss, no chips or cracks. Some light misses to the decal is the only flaw.$311

Part of a scarce 3 doll set, includes the batter, pitcher and this catcher. Nicknamed after Hall of Fame pitcher Don Drysdale. This one is in very nice condition, all original with pleasing colors and gloss. One very faint hairline to side of chin and a few small paint chips around back are the only problems.$220

20 LA Dodgers 1960 Wood Base Gem MB $200

From the same set as the rare Yankee doll listed in lot #3, the set also includes a Giant and Angel. While not as rare as the Yank, this one is also fairly scarce. He has bright shiny colors, perfect embossed logos and no cracks or chips. He's had smoothing to the rim and a professional cleaning and looks like a beautiful gem mint doll on the shelf.$346

21 SF Giants 1960 Buddyflex ExMt MB $60

One of the first dolls made. This is the hard rubber example produced by Buddy Flex in early 1960. This set looks to be the forerunner of the short lived 1960 Wood Base set, as you can tell the facial mold is identical. (see my Yankee and Dodgers Wood Bases elsewhere in this auction). In very nice shape with no major nicks or scrapes. Main problem here is some natural darkening which is very common with these.$151

22 Cincinnati Reds 1960 Color Base Gem MB $200

About as pretty a doll as you'll ever see. Sharp colors and gloss, super embossed logos. Does have a very faint hairline to jaw that doesn't show on display, small scrape to rear shoulder and looks to have had a very light cleaning. Still, you won't have a nicer looking doll on your shelf.$248

This is the more difficult ball example and it's also about the most "natural looking" Mays light face I've ever seen. This doll often comes with coloring that is too reddish and doesn't look right. This one has lovely brownish coloring, my first reaction was that it was a dark face example.. Anyway he's a beauty with super colors and gloss and great decals. He's had a little bit of restoration to the side and hat but I couldn't see it without my blacklight. A beauty. $280

In my experience about 90% of Angels Green Bases are found in the flat cap style, rarely do you see it in this version. The dolls looks great with nice gloss and coloring and fairly solid decals with just a bit of darkening. No chips or cracks although he has had a professional cleaning with some touch ups. Looks very nice on display.$145

The Angels example can be found with several different decal combinations, this is the hard to find letter a with the halo over it. Gem colors and gloss, decals are solid with just a couple of factory seam splits. Only flaws are some light flaking to the rear head rim and an extremely hard to spot touch up under the brim (I had to look this over 3 times to be sure). rest is all original and gorgeous.$275

I find this to be one of the toughest of all the 1968 Gold Bases (also known as the Merger Series). This one has had some light chips and nicks fixed up but looks super with shiny colors and gloss and solid decals and helmet stripes (note the white spots on stripe and chest decal in the first picture is camera glare). A beautiful doll that looks gem on the shelf.$154

Like the previous Colts doll, this New England example is one of the tougher one's to come across, particularly in beautiful all original condition like this one. One more hard to find doll from this 1968 Gold Base (merger series) set. Very solid all original example with nice colors and gloss. Decals show a few light misses but overall are fine. 60 Lot of 2 The Ballplayer &The Golfer Bobbing Heads NrMt+ MB $50

Lot of two cute little guys, part of set that includes several sports. Both are in great condition, colors and gloss are strong as are the decals. One micro hairline to bottom of chin and what looks like a small touchup to dimple on the golfer, ballplayer is solid with just a tiny nick to head rim.$50

61 Snoopy Peanuts Gang NrMt/Mt in Box MB $100

Without a doubt the most condition sensitive of the Peanuts set (Lucy is a close second). This example is about as nice as you'll find. Smooth off white coloring throughout, no cracks or hairlines. Decal is solid with just a tiny miss or two. A couple of pinpoints to base and a tiny nick to rear of head rim are the only (very) minor flaws. Comes in a Snoopy box although the Snoopy sticker is probably not original (at least I've never seen one that looks like that).$100

Great looking example of my childhood hero in his original stamped box. Lovely colors and gloss with a perfect decal. A few well hidden paint nicks to the collar area are the only flaws.$120

64 Bank of Texas Boot Advertising Nodder Cool Gem NrMt MB $120

First time I've seen this doll and I'll have to say it's one of the neater dolls I've seen. Advertising bobbing head bank for the Bank of Texas, it has a small head sitting on a large boot, complete with spurs. Stands about 7" tall. Original gem colors and gloss, no hairlines or cracks. A tiny nick to rear of neck stem and I spotted a couple of minor touch ups to the paint with my black light, otherwise gem mint.$653

One of the rarest of the Rumpus Room set. Very condition sensitive and this one is better than most I've seen. A couple of very faint hairlines to rim and some scattered paint nicks are the flaws. Coloring isn't bad, a bit toned but I've never seen one that wasn't.$121

If you have the patience, pick this one up, keep your eyes open for an Eve doll to pop up (may take awhile but it will happen) and you'll have a very valuable rare set. I had heard of an Adam and Eve pair but this is the first example of either that I've seen. He's in super shape with solid coloring and gloss. Has had some touchups to top of the hair but you need a black light to spot it. Rest is all original with no flaws. Might be worth a real shot for someone..$97

01 Washington Redskins 1960 NFL Promo !! Gem MB $3500

Very pleased to be able to offer one of the rarest and most desirable dolls in the hobby. Most of you by now know the story of these Promotional Dolls and how few of them were made and even fewer exist. This is only the second known Redskin, the other set a record for the highest price ever paid for a vintage bobbing head. This is the proverbial "found in an attic" story, a young couple from the West Coast discovered it in the attic of the home they bought. How it got there will remain a mystery, but here it is.. The doll is gorgeous. Like new original paint and gloss, perfect decals too. There are no chips, cracks or hairlines anywhere. There was a crack to the left foot but it has been expertly restored by a master and looks good as new. Only flaws are a couple of tiny flakes to side of brim and a very faint surface hairline (more like a tiny scratch) to the right underside that I did not even spot until I looked at my pictures, its very hard to see with the naked eye. Wow, I can't remember the last time I had an honest to goodness original Mantle in minty condition, especially this "muscles" version. If you've followed my site you know that the vast, vast majority of "mint" Mantles out there have been worked on. This one is 100% original with bright white coloring, pleasing gloss and super decals. Can't find any chips, cracks or hairlines. Includes his rare illustrated box which is rough with some staining, wear and tape but displays fairly nicely. As a bonus you get a card showing Mantle holding his nodder at Yankee Stadium. Certainly looks like a gem minty example and I'm sure would be sold as such in many places, here I'll tell you that he's been professionally cleaned and had some restoration to his head. This tough KC A's Gold Base is a gorgeous doll in gem condition and this one is fabulous. Glossy bright colors, no cracks, chips or hairlines and all original. Decals are very solid with just a couple of minor seam splits on the chest where the pinstripes go through and some minor nicks to the hat decal. As nice as they come. $772

03 Green Base Umpire with Broom Gem MB $500

Another gorgeous nodder that's pretty tough to come by. This one has a small touch up to the chest protector and a bit of professional cleaning done and looks beautiful with gem colors and gloss. A couple of tiny pinpoint flecks if you search, otherwise no flaws at all. A real beauty. $605

05 Kansas City A's Green Base with Light Blue Hat Gem MB $350

This doll has really disappeared, I find this light blue hat version to be more difficult to find than the "rarer" dark hat version. This one has bright colors and gloss, decals have darkened a bit but are otherwise perfect. No repairs, although the doll has had a professional cleaning. No cracks or hairlines, just a couple of very light rubs to the lower left side of head which don't show on display. $550

06 New York Mets Black Player ExMt MB $500

One of the toughest of the Green Base Black Player set. This "realistic face" example is in pretty nice shape other than the base decal, which was applied askew. Hat decal is good, chest decal has a flaw to the E. Blue colors are sharp, gloss is pretty good and the body is a soft off white color. No cracks or hairlines, just some scattered light wear. I've searched high and low with my black light and can't find any repairs or restoration, just a small flaw on the brim that was touched up at the factory and is all original. $666

07 New York Titans 1961 AFL Toes Up NrMt MB $500

The toughest of a tough set, this 1961 Titans example is nice with sharp blue colors and solid gloss throughout. This is the preferred dual decal example with Titans on the chest and New York on the base, both in great shape. A few very light hairlines coming up from the rim, minor paint marks and two hidden touch ups to the helmet are the flaws. Solid doll that's tough to come by. $1444

08 San Diego Chargers 1965 Gold Base AFL Rare Gem MB $350

This is only the 4th example of this doll that I've seen. I spotted my first one in 2005 and offered one in my June 2006 auction, before that it was not known in the hobby to exist. Suffice it to say that it's quite rare and one of only 5 AFL dolls known in this set. This one has had some restoration done and looks gem minty with bright colors and gloss and no cracks or hairlines. Decals have darkened some but overall they're not too bad. If you like rarities or need this for your 1965-67 Gold Base set here's your chance. $350

09 Washington Redskins Rare Type 4 Toes Up Gem MB $500

All of the Type 4 dolls (ball horizontal, bullet shaped head, colored bases) are extremely hard to come across and the Redskins are right near the top of the list. This example is gorgeous with bright super colors and gloss and perfect decals throughout. My black light tells me that some nicks and hairlines have been professionally cleaned up but it's hard to tell by looking at it and they don't come any nicer looking. $805

10 Cleveland Browns Type 4 Toes Up Gem NrMt MB $350

Another tough Type 4 (ball horizontal, bullet shaped head, colored bases), this is the popular Browns nodder with the CB helmet decals. In beautiful original condition with like new colors and gloss and perfect decals. Only flaws are some very minor scattered pinpoints to body and base, a very faint surface hairline coming up from the chin strap and a small smooth chip under the left side of head rim that does not detract. A gorgeous original example of a tough doll. $385

Only flaw that I see is some minor touch up to the rear of hat. Body is solid, no flaws however the shellac has toned a bit, sort of a shiny cream color in front, a bit darker in back. Base paint is good with some scattered pinpoints to lower edge. Decals are strong with just a couple of small misses.$446

This is one of the first baseball bobbing heads made, part of a small set of hard rubber dolls that includes the Giants, Dodgers, White Sox, Pirates and Braves. Condition is pretty good, no major marks or flaws although it shows light wear throughout and the logos have faded a bit. I believe this doll was the prototype for the quickly abandoned 1960 Wood Base set (see picture below, note the regular Giants doll pictured is for info only).$106

49 Boston Patriots Kissing Set Gem ExMt MB $300

I've been waiting for years to find the rumored AFL Patriots Kissing Pair and have come to the conclusion that this is the pair that people have been talking about. While it does not have the typical Japan decals (these peal, original Japan decals can only be chipped off) I've seen this exact pair enough to say that there is some legitimacy to this set. Anecdotal evidence (that's fancy talk for I've heard stories) suggests that the Patriots ordered these red dolls from the manufacturer and added these decals for sale at the stadium. Prices on the 4 or 5 examples of these I've seen for sale have been substantial so obviously many collectors feel that way and they remain a valuable pair. The boy is in pretty nice shape with glossy colors. Looks all original but for one tiny touch up to side of his helmet. Some light scattered wear and several small hairlines to rim are the flaws. She has some touch ups and a cleaning and looks great. A scarce pair no matter how you slice it.$1980

01 Rare John Lennon Promo Gem MB $750

A true rarity and probably the most impressive looking bobbing head I've ever seen. This is the 16" Lennon Promo doll that was made in very limited quantities to promote the Beatles Carmascot set. These were not available for sale and only a handful of these promos are known to exist. Never had one before, probably never will again. This example had some nicks and chips professionally restored and it displays like a gem mint doll with gorgeous colors and gloss and no flaws. You would need a black light and a trained eye to be able to spot any of the restoration. This would be the highlight of almost any collection.$2795.10

02 JFK Bronze Bobbing Head Scarce Gem MB $500

Another very scarce doll that you rarely see for sale. First one I've ever had. This was modeled like a "bronze bust" and is all black with dark green accents. Far and away the rarest Kennedy, the rarest political doll for that matter. When I first examined this one I thought he was close to mint with just some minor pinpoint flecks. After giving it a thorough look with my light I found a very small area to the lower back of head that has had some work done. Even with my black light it was tough to spot. The rest is about perfect with just a faint scratch to chin and very minor scattered pinpoints (non prominent) which are unavoidable on an all black doll. The rest of the white specks you see in the pictures are reflections from my flash. Looks minty.$732.60

03 Buffalo Bills Type 4 Toes Up Only 3 Known Gem in Box MB $500

Bills numbered AFL type 4 toes up doll. I believe this is only the 3rd one I've seen anywhere. Super colors and gloss, decals are spotless other than some minor crinkling to the stripes on the back of his right arm. The body is in minty original condition, the head looks like it too although my black light picked up some work that was done to either side of the head rim area. Probably some nicks or cracks that were cleaned up. 95% original, 100% rare and gorgeous. Almost forgot.. he comes with his original Toes Up box with the stamped BB team initials which I've never heard of before.$1410.00

04 Cleveland Indians Boy Face Mini Rare NrMt MB $500

It's time to call this a legitimate variation and add this to the Mini set. I've seen this doll 3 times previously, the first couple of times I thought it was just a head switch, however I've now seen it 4 times, all with the identical head mold. Like the valuable Orioles Boy Face, there is no hat decal but that's probably because there was no mini hat decal made for the Indian or Oriole mascots. Also, on most Indian minis the neck and hand was painted orange (see my Indian mini picture included for comparison), here it's the original flesh color. Condition is great. Colors and gloss are solid, decals are perfect but for tiny two circular misses. Some minor wear to the rear and a circular craze mark on top of hat where no shellac was added are the only flaws, all minor and invisible on display. If I'm a mini collector I want this in my set!$550.00

One of the harder hockey dolls to find. This World Hockey Association (WHA) doll is part of a 4 doll set that also includes the Boston Bruins (NHL), Boston Braves (AHL) and Cleveland Crusaders (WHA). This is far and away the most difficult and doesn't show up often. Nice and shiny with great coloring and no cracks or hairlines, although it has had some work done to the head rim and a light professional cleaning. $495.00

24 Baltimore Clippers Hockey Nodder NrMt MB $140

One of the neater dolls out there, this is the Baltimore Clippers minor league hockey example with the unique 3 sided base decals. Colors and gloss are top notch, decals are strong. Only flaw I can find is a small chip under the head rim with a corresponding paint touch up there, hidden on display. (note the white spot on his hat brim is camera glare, not a chip)$169.40

25 LA Lakers 1962 Square Base ExMt MB $140

One of only a handful of NBA nodders produced. This Laker was made along with a Knicks example and is one of only two NBA teams that can be found in this style. Good looking doll with nice colors and gloss and solid decals. Some light chipping and faint hairlines to the head rim are the only flaws, all well hidden. Pretty tough example that looks good.$190.30

Solid looking little Mets flat cap style. Colors and gloss are sharp, decals pretty good with a couple of misses. Several very small hairlines coming up from the rim (rear and side) but they are very minor.$143.00

Bright shiny doll that stands out on the shelf. The flaws are 2 cracks, front and back coming up from the head rim. Pretty well disguised on display and he looks super on the shelf. Tough doll.$247.50

This was one of the dolls that the team ordered specially. Comes on a round gold base with a unique face not seen elsewhere. Fairly difficult doll. Condition is always a problem with this example, uneven and toned shellac is the main problem here. Head has some light paint wear, a small chip to right side of head rim and a tiny rub to the nose. Shooting star decal is above average, other decals are good too.$82.28

45 Kissing Home Run Bank Charlie Brown MB $120

Very popular and cute Home Run Kissing Bank, modeled after Charlie Brown. Colors and gloss are fabulous, decal is in good shape too. She's in nice shape with just a couple of nicks that don't detract, Charlie has had some chips to the rim fixed up very nicely. Normally when you move the bat the girl's head turns but it's not working right now but that's not a big deal. Looks like it was originally purchased in Washington DC since it has a souvenir sticker on it. Very neat nodder.$120.00
